Cooperation projects

DFN-Verein has been cooperating with RRZE for many years and investigates new developments in various research projects with RRZE. Primarily involved in this cooperation with DFN-Verein is the research group Forschungsgruppe Netz of department “Kommunikationssysteme”. The current project of the EU framework program Horizon Europe (direct successor of Horizon 2020) in this cooperation is presented below:

GÉANT5 Phase 1 (GN5-1)

GN5-1 started on 01/01/2023 and covers a total of 2 years. The Forschungsgruppe Netz of the RRZE works together with the DFN in the following subareas:

    • Work Package 6: Network Development
    • Work Package 7: Network Core Infrastructure and Core Service Evolution and Operations
    • Work Package 9: Operations Support

QuNet+ML: Optimization of quantum communication networks using machine learning.

QuNet+ML has already started and ends with the 31.12.2024
